ATS stands for Automatic Testing Stations, used for vehicle mechanical testing and fitness checks. The government has made the vehicle fitness certificate mandatory. You must have a fitness certificate when you renew your vehicle RC book. If your vehicle is old and fails the fitness test, it is scrapped under the scrap policy.

Commercial vehicles have to undergo a fitness test every 2 years at an ATS center. Testing is every 2 years for up to 8 years, then annually. A private vehicle has to be inspected after 15 years at an Automatic Testing Station when you renew your vehicle registration certificate. How to Find an ATS Center Near you for a Vehicle Fitness test?

You can easily find an ATS center near you. First, visit the official Parivahan website: https://parivahan.gov.in. Open this website and select from the main menu to Online Services to Vehicle Fitness Testing.

Now open the Automated Fitness Management System page and select your state, select District, Select Lane Type for Car, truck, or bus. Click on VIEW ATS CENTER button.

Show all nearby ATS centers and contact details. if you want to book a slot for the test, then click on the Slot Book button.

First, select the date and time, then click on the time.

Log in with your mobile number. Enter your mobile number and click the GET OTP button.

An OTP will come on your mobile; verify it, and then your slot will be booked.
