Who requires a Medical Certificate?

A medical certificate is required by all the applicants who are applying for a driving license. If a person is beyond 50 years of age, he must also produce a medical certificate in the Form said to be as 1A. Further, if the applicant is applying for the transport class license, then there is a need for a medical certificate to be produced in Form 1A as well. Other than these two scenarios, there is no requirement for a medical certificate.

  • In the Other menu on the Left Side, the Print Application Form option will appear
  • Type the application number and download Form 1(A)

It is also said that only government hospital doctors shall be entitled to offer the same. One small liberty is, the RTOs in Maharashtra accept the medical certificate given by MBBS degree holders. At times, you will be asked to take a blood test, if unsure of the same. Such details shall be necessary for the driving license. While the fees are nominal in this accord, in certain RTOs you will find such forms rolling in the hands of agents. You might have to pay the required money to procure it.
